Brian is a graduate from the State University of New York at Albany earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in European History, and a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law earning his Juris Doctor. While attending Hofstra Law, Brian met his wife and current law partner, Stefanie N. Devery. Brian has interned for the Honorable Leonard D. Wexler, Chief Judge for the Eastern District of New York and prior to graduation and admittance to the Bar clerked at a small firm practicing in Real Estate and Lender Representation. Brian was admitted to practice before the Courts of The State of New York in May of 2003.
Upon admittance to the Bar, Brian founded The Law Offices of Brian S. Devery, Esq. and was in house counsel to a major mortgage bank in Nassau County, New York. Brian S. Devery, Esq. was in house counsel to a major Long Island Mortgage Bank for four years, negotiated and drafted mortgage documents, and oversaw the actions of outside counsel. Brian reviewed each and every file to determine compliance with oversight agencies, State and Federal regulatory agencies and other applicable laws. Brian Devery further negotiated and oversaw the transfer of ownership for that Mortgage Bank, drafting the necessary documentation and presentation materials for the Banking Department and parties involved. Brian Devery has been involved in all aspects of Mortgage Banking, Real Estate Closings, Contract Negotiations, Collections, Hard Money Lending and many other forms of Real Estate and Finance Law. Brian also taught Real Estate course for continuing education, Paralegal Studies at C.W. Post, Long Island University. In 2009, Brian and his wife relocated and founded the new firm: The Devery Law Group, P.C.
Brian is a lifelong New Yorker, born and raised on the South Shore of Long Island. Brian continues to reside on Long Island with his wife and two small children. Brian is an avid but terrible golfer and technophile.
